Spend some time
with one of Australia's most dangerous creatures--the crocodile!
Traveling outside Darwin City, make your way to Crocodylus Park, famous
for its work on crocodile research. It is operated by wildlife research
consultants, and your guide will take you through the complex explaining
its history and information about breeding, feeding and the lifestyle of
this awesome animal.
See the crocodiles in the lagoon and in their pens where you will witness
their feeding with some crocs literally leaping into the air for the
food. There is also the opportunity to have a photo taken with a
juvenile crocodile--and for the more adventurous, to hold one!
With more than 25 years experience, the Park is a noted wildlife
facility. You can also see other animals, emus, cassowaries, cockatoos,
turtles and some non-Australian residents such as iguanas and South
American monkeys.
Be sure to spend some time in the Crocodile Museum. Learn about the
species' ancestors, how they live and why they are so feared, through
the unique displays. The museum even has a resident nesting female
saltwater crocodile. |
